A Splash of Aloha – Food and Travel From Hawaii to Disney World and Beyond bio picture
  • Aloha!!

Welcome to my blog! My name is Su-Lynn and I love to travel and try new cuisines. I live in the NY/NJ Tri-state area with my wonderful husband, Steve. I've had a love affair with Hawaii since I was young. Steve and I have been traveling to Hawaii every year since 2009 (sometimes twice a year if we are lucky).

This blog houses all my trip reports and travel experiences from around the world, as well as detail future trip planning...along with doses of yummy food from NYC, Hawaii, and beyond (including Disney World!). Hawaii is a wonderful place to visit, filled with amazing food, scenery, beaches, history, and lots of friendly ALOHA. Although I do miss it when I'm not there, I always try to find a little ALOHA in my daily life. Thanks for reading! Click here to read more about this blog and me.

If you're planning a trip to Hawaii, hopefully my blog will provide some useful information but please feel free to drop me a line to ask a question or two . I can't promise I will have the right answer, but I'll let you know what I think it should be. Aloha! :)

The next morning we awoke before dawn to catch sunrise at Sandy Beach on the windward (east) side of Oahu. I went there last year on a sunrise photography tour and it was just gorgeous so I took my friends there so they could witness a beautiful sunrise. We got there around half an hour […]

Hawaii with Friends Day 4: Wailana Coffee House, Byodo-In, Shirokiya Japan Village Walk

Today was supposed to be our grand circle island drive to the North Shore. We started out with a breakfast at one of our staples, Wailana Coffee House. It’s right near the Hilton Hawaiian Village. You can park in their basement lot for 75 cents with validation. We enjoyed some traditional diner-style breakfast with a local […]
