A quick overview of our trip to Maui…and a new house!

We’re back. From Maui. And it’s freezing in NYC. The windchill tonight made it feel like 31 degrees Fahrenheit. I’m also jet lagged so I don’t want to go to bed when I should at night, and I want to wake up at around noon. Going back to work will be not be fun tomorrow but it will be good to go back to a routine even though we really miss Hawaii.

This was a great vacation, but not the best Maui trip (the first trip is still my favorite). We never made it back to Haleakala, or did the drive to Hana again either. That didn’t mean we weren’t up and about – we were – just in different ways. Here are some iPhone pics I took throughout the 12 days we were there.

Rainbows everywhere we went! The weather was good for the most part, but small sun showers gave us these wonderful rainbows. When I grow up I’m gonna be a rainbow chaser! (Ha Ha)

Pretty views from Mama’s Fish House where we spent our 5th Anniversary dinner. It was so yummy. A post on that will come later.

They gifted me with a lei and brought us extra ice cream for dessert. Oh and this card was waiting for us at our table. Mahalo Mama’s Fish House! We love it here!

SPAM musubi! I only had a few of these as MSG causes me to have migraines…but they are a novelty item that I like to have once while there.

Eating at local spot Sam Sato’s for their famous dry mein with chicken and beef sticks. I thought the sticks were ok but the kimchee was a great side for the yummy chewy noodles.

The delicious crispy manju from Homemaid Bakery in Wailuku. There is also a smaller outpost on Dairy road in Kahului. I love these manju – they taste like mini pies with a flaky crust.

Ululani’s shave ice! This one was down by Kihei, and they buy propecia 5mg also have a new bakery next door, but we were here for only one thing, shave ice! I get it with a scoop of mac nut ice cream and 3 syrups, li hing, lillikoi and lychee. Sooooo yum on a hot day.

The fabulous sunsets from the beach. This was at the Andaz Maui at Wailea, which deserves it’s own few posts.

A beach shoot we did with the amazing Mike of Pacific Dreams photography at the Andaz.

Ziplining over deep ravines and valleys of the West Maui mountains with Skyline Eco Adventures. Tons of fun with cute instructors to boot.

Foraging for our lunch greens which were then cooked up into a formal meal by Chef JJ at O’o Farms in Kula, one of the most picturesque spots on Maui.

and just a lot of beach time…

…and pool time. The pools at the Andaz were fabulous. I fell in love with a coconut drink called the Coconut Wireless…”You put the lime in the co-co-nut”…this tastes just like that song would!

We did a lot of relaxing because we knew coming back there will be a lot of changes going on…we are happy to say we have bought a new house in New Jersey! We closed right before we left for this trip and now we have to pack everything up and move…plus work full time at our jobs with no other vacation in sight…yikes! But I am happy to be back so we can get settled in our new home together.

Our new 4 BR house! We are excited to move to a bigger space, but sad to leave the city, but the city is only a quick drive away.

I’ll be posting about out trip during the next few weeks in between packing and moving. Stay tuned! Let me know if you’d also like to see posts about our house. Mahalo!

Su-Lynn - Hi Tim! On Maui we didn’t do any ocean activities since we just prefer to snorkle lazily, but we have done diving with Ocean Adventures off the shores of Oahu. I will try stand up paddle board one day! Thanks for the links!
