Disney Fantasy Star Wars Day at Sea Cruise – Day 2 Part 1: Rainforest Room

Today was our first sea day and I was so excited to be able to explore the Fantasy some more. We had a bunch of stuff planned for the day – our first visit to the Rainforest Room, brunch at Remy for Steve and myself, a mixology class with some people from the DIS Boards, it was formal night at dinner, the Aladdin show was playing, plus we have a date to watch Star Wars: Episode IV later that night…do we get to do everything we have planned? We’ll find out soon enough…

First we all decided to go to the gym which is located inside the Senses Spa. It’s open to everyone so you don’t need a spa treatment or Rainforest pass to use the gym. The gym was very nice – although I don’t have pictures. But it was your typical hotel/cruise ship gym. The nice part is that you can use the treadmill and look out into the ocean!

Gearing up for the gym

After the gym, still in our workout clothes, we decided to head straight to Cabanas for breakfast. I really wanted to get my hands on a few of these:

Mickey waffles!

Cabanas buffet had a wide variety of breakfast foods so there was something for everyone. We really enjoyed the breakfasts here!

[?IMG]We headed back to the room to change into swimsuits so that we could use the pool and then head to the Rainforest room for the first time! The pools were pretty empty since it was still early – it was really pretty though. In fact, the morning was when I really enjoyed roaming around the ship. The earlier the better too if you want to find little to no people in usually crowded areas.

The adult pool was practically empty in the morning.

At check in for Senses spa, they took our Key to The World Cards which had a special sticker on them for access to the Rainforest room. They gave us wristbands which double as the “magic band” to open the door to the room. They asked if we would like scrubs and we said yes! The three scents you could choose from were Chocolate Mint, Vanilla Lavender, and Citrus. More often than not, they only had two fragrances to choose from out of the three. They give you a little container of the scrub like this:

I got the lavender scrub which was really nice

When you first enter the Rainforest Room, you’re greeted by fresh towels and infused water. One was cucumber and the other, lemon.

[?IMG]To the left were the rain showers, steam rooms, and sauna.  It’s really quite amazing.

Rain shower and “wet” areas

The rain showers were really fun. Each one had a selection of buttons that you can press like “Caribbean Storm” or “Atlantic Rain” or something like that, and a series of mists/showers of all temperatures will come blasting out at you. They were all pretty fun. Some of them would change temperatures and some were just outright cold which were not that appealing but it was fun to try them all out especially when you didn’t know what would happen.

The dry sauna had a full glass pane in it so you could see the outside! I thought this was a genius idea.

[?IMG]

Why settle for a sauna with no wall of glass when you could have one that does?

The area heading straight as you’re walking into the Rainforest Room is a separate door leading to the quiet area, with heated loungers and jacuzzis. These were amazing!

[?IMG]

That dude looks really comfy!

The heated loungers were wonderful. When I first lay down on one, I instantly fell asleep within buy lamisil pills online minutes. I’m the sort of person who finds it hard to fall asleep and rarely take naps – but now I know that all I’m missing is a heated lounger!! Instant nap success!!

These loungers were my go to each and every day of the cruise from then on it was my power nap in the afternoon! I saw people read, listen to music on their headphones, play games on their ipads, etc. all while lounging in those chairs. Note that the chairs can get a bit warm after a while so I usually put a layer of towel in between myself and the lounger and it was perfect.

Right beyond the loungers through a glass sliding door were the outdoor jacuzzis. There were two of them and each one fit two people comfortably, or maybe three, as long as you know them really well. LOL

[?IMG]

[?IMG]I tried the jacuzzis but didn’t actually find them warm enough because I like jacuzzis to be hot! The jacuzzi next to the adult pool was much hotter and larger but it drew big crowds at times. These ones were far less crowded and there was a nice serene vibe here. Plus you get to feel some ocean breezes as well since glass only partially covered the room.

My view at that moment.

After my power nap, I went into the wet steam room to use the scrub. There are little sinks and vats of water in there to rinse yourself off after you finish your scrub. It was super hot in there, but I guess that is the point! After the scrub and rinse your skin will feel really soft and moisturized. In fact, my skin never looked better than after this cruise!

Soon it was about the time that Steve and I had to get ready for our Remy brunch so we went back to the locker room. I realized then that the showers here were pretty awesome. They were big and had everything you need. It was really convenient to do so and I found myself showering at the spa more often than in our room. It worked out because then three people are not waiting to use the shower at the same time in the stateroom!

Shower room amenities from Elemis. They had a spicy almost masculine scent:

After getting ready, we had some time so we browsed the Vista Gallery. The Vista Gallery is a lovely little spot that showcases artwork available for purchase. I really enjoyed browsing through their collection when we happen to be around the area. It was a small collection but some pieces were really cool, and they had a lot of Star Wars art too.

Also nearby were the Shutters photography locations, one which housed physical printed pictures, and one which had all the digital pictures.

Digital Shutters where you can view all your cruise pictures on a screen. Just scan your KTTW card.

Digital Shutters

And “library” style Shutters, where each “book” is a folder holding your physical pictures. We were assigned a specific book in the Minnie bookcase which housed all the printed pictures. It was fun to actually see how each picture would turn out when printed. If you took a lot of pictures though, then the folder may not hold everything and they will have to store it separately so you’ll have to ask a Cast Member for the remaining pictures.

Soon it was time for our Remy brunch! We headed up the elevators to Deck 12 (note that you have to use the Aft elevators to take you to Remy and Palo).

[?IMG]Stay tuned for a gastronomical brunch!!!
