May 2015: Disney Magic Cruise and Walt Disney World Vacation!

On Saturday we’ll be flying down to Orlando for our annual Disney vacation! This year is pretty special because we’ll be going on our first Disney cruise: a 5-night Bahamian adventure with stops at Key West, Nassau, and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay! We’ll be on the Disney Magic, which is the original ship of the Disney cruise family. It recently underwent a re-imagining (refurbishment in Disney-speak) and I can’t wait to see it in person!

We’ll be in a Deluxe Verandah Stateroom, category 5C on Deck level 6 port side mid-ship. Naval speak is very new to me since this is only my 2nd cruise, and the first one was more than 10 years ago. We cruise on Royal Caribbean and had a stateroom with a window (but didn’t open).  Our stateroom on the recently re-imagined Disney Magic looks lovely and I’m super excited to experience a balcony on a ship first-hand!

We’ll try out the Aquadunk which is a water slide which hangs off the side of the ship! Pic from The Disney Blog.

We’ll be going with Steve’s family, including our niece Maddie! She’s going to have so much fun! Maybe even more than me….!!!!

Can’t wait to see you again Maddie!

We’ll have so much fun!

After our cruise, we’ll join my sister, Su-Queen, for a week at the Happiest Place on Earth, made even better by the addition of Star Wars Weekends! This limited time event occurs only on certain weekends during May and June. May the force be with anti fungal meds you!

Hopefully we can get Vader to do the death grip to Steve again.

We’ll be staying at the Art of Animation resort, which is where we stayed in 2012. We are in a Cars family suite which has more than enough room for 3 people and even 2 bathrooms, which is pretty rare in Disney.

We’ll be in a family suite in the Cars-themed section of the Art of Animation Resort.

We’ll be eating at some of our favorite Disney restaurants, including Be Our Guest, which is one of the hardest to get dining reservations in Disney World. I tried to get dinner reservations but even I was not successful (and I plan way ahead of time). However we will still be getting breakfast and possibly lunch at Beast’s castle!

We’ll be there for the last weekend of the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival where intricate topiaries and gardens will be on display.

In addition there will be food kiosks around the World Showcase featuring food from around the world. It’s gonna be a yummy 2 weeks!

Poke from the Hawaii booth at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. The Flower and Garden Festival will be similar (not sure they will have poke though).

See you in two weeks!
